Talented Athlete Pass

We offer the Talented Athlete Pass to support national sport squad athletes representing their country at national and international levels. It provides those eligible with free or reduced rate (50%) entry to our leisure venues to help with their training requirements.

Who can apply?

The scheme is open to athletes who are residents or members of sports clubs in Aberdeenshire and are either:

  • a member of their national training squad at full or age group level (entitled to 50% discount, but can choose to support the service to increase this to 100%)
  • selected regularly by their national squad to take part in international competitions

Your National Governing Body must provide proof of squad selection or international call up.

We consider each case individually as we appreciate that every sport is different and will base decisions on information received from each governing body after application.

Talented Athlete Pass Terms and Conditions

Conditions of use

The Talented Athlete Pass is valid for a period of one year from the date of issue.  Athletes that hold the Talented Athlete Pass can use it for training only (either sports specific or fitness related). The pass will only provide access for the athlete and must not be used to book venues for friends or family.

Athletes should report to reception every time they visit an LLA facility, and the team will verify admission. We may also ask you to sign in to help us monitor the scheme. It is valid at any council facility that accepts Talented Athlete Pass.

In exchange for this pass, we ask that you agree to take part in appropriate publicity and promotional events on behalf of Live Life Aberdeenshire whenever possible. When using our sport centres you must comply with our rules and admissions policy

Pass holders are not permitted to book space for others unless they are participating, and all others are either members or paying for use.Under 16’s may use fitness rooms unattended, provided they are working to a pre-prepared programme developed by their coach (venue staff may ask to see programme at any time)

Change in circumstances

If your squad status changes, please contact us to let us know. If this is due to a short term injury, we will consult your National Governing Body and may allow you to continue to use your Talented Athlete Pass.

If you change address within Aberdeenshire, please visit an LLA venue to update your details.
