Active Schools Aberdeenshire Virtual Sessions Code of Conduct

All participants at Active Schools Aberdeenshire Virtual Sessions must abide by the following code of conduct at all times.

The Code of Conduct has been developed to ensure that all participants have an enjoyable time and are treated safely and fairly. We ask that all parents, guardians, carers support us in delivering a fun and safe environment by ensuring that your child is aware of the expected behaviours before attending one of our sessions.

At every Active Schools Live Session expected behaviours include:

  • If you wish to have your camera on please ensure it is in a shared space, such as a living room, kitchen or a garden. Not in a private space such as a bedroom.
  • Parents/carers/guardians are welcome to join in with the session and are also encouraged to be in close proximity to help with any instructions / technical problems that may arise.
  • During the short “blether session” at the beginning of the class, all pupils are respectful to each other
  • Once you have been ‘muted’ by Active Schools Staff or the deliverer of the session, do not put your microphone back on, unless explicitly told to do so.

Once the Class begins:

  • Be able to take instruction and follow direction from the deliverer
  • Feel free to use the ‘raise your hand’ function appropriately if you have any questions
  • If persistent problems occur a participant may be removed from the session by the Active Schools staff member to maintain the enjoyment and safety of others.
  • Follow the below advice below to have an enjoyable session:
  • Continually unmuting yourself – Please don’t do this as it will distract the deliverer from their instruction.
  • Keeping safe using your camera – if you wish to have your camera on, make sure everyone in the house knows it’s on and that you are busy with it.
  • Make sure you have enough space, it is physical activity after all, you will need some room to move!
  • Have fun!
