Children have always valued their toys as playthings and companions to be loved, abused and discarded, according to mood and whim. But it is adults who have elevated toys to the display cabinet.
We have brought together toys from the Victorian era to the mid-20th century which have been drawn from the collections of Aberdeenshire Council Museums Service, many of which have been donated by local people. These include a diverse range of toys from the Victorian era to the late 20th century.
New to the exhibition is a Tri-ang toy horse on spring rockers from the 1950s and a golliwog from the 1970s. Small children will have fun with all sorts of Fisher Price toys in a dedicated play area.

The exhibition is FREE.
