On Monday 18th November, at the start of Book Week Scotland, the Brander Library was delighted to host Inverness based author Margaret Kirk who writes in the distinctive genre she describes as ‘highland ‘noir’.
She spoke candidly about how she came to write her novels, her inspiration and her research as well as the process of drafting and redrafting. It was very interesting indeed to hear her shrewd insight into the experience of getting published and maintaining a profile in an increasingly competitive field, from what to look for in a good agent to using social media platforms. Some valuable tips for any budding writers!
The event was well attended, in particular by the local Huntly Writers group.
We look forward to the publication of her latest novel in the summer of 2020, the next instalment in the DI Lukas Mahler series.
