Live Life Aberdeenshire’s flagship cycling programme “Bringing the bike to you” has entered into a two-year collaborative partnership with Frog Bikes, one of the UK’s most prominent manufacturers of balance bikes and children’s bikes.
This new partnership aims to ensure that the cycling programme, which is run by the Live Life Outdoors team, can gain greater exposure to schools, families, groups and organisations across Aberdeenshire and secure wider coverage of their work across Scotland and the wider UK.
The programme, which delivers sessions of cycling activity across Aberdeenshire focusing on “Balance to Pedal”, “Junior Cycling”, “Discovering Cycling” and Event Support, has already had a busy start since its launch in early 2024. The new collaboration will also integrate Frog bikes, which the team currently uses in delivering its sessions across the authority.
Commenting on the partnership, Councillor Anne Stirling, Chair of the Communities Committee and Deputy Leader of Aberdeenshire Council said “I am delighted to see that Live Life Aberdeenshire’s cycling programme has this new collaborative partnership with Frog Bikes. The cycling programme itself is a legacy of the previous visits of the Tour of Britain to Aberdeenshire, but if I take a wider view across our communities, it’s clear from the development of cycling-related venues and facilities locally, that cycling itself is more embedded in our communities than ever before.”
Val Benyon, Head of Marketing at Frog Bikes highlighted the continued growth in cycling activity at all levels saying “At Frog Bikes, we are passionate about getting children on bikes and fostering a lifelong love of cycling. This partnership with Live Life Aberdeenshire’s 'Bringing the bike to you' programme is a fantastic opportunity to reach more young riders across Aberdeenshire. We're excited to see how our bikes can help inspire the next generation of cyclists and support the incredible work being done to promote cycling in communities throughout the region."
