Aberdeenshire Council Live Life Aberdeenshire terms and conditions

Once the Live Life Aberdeenshire Membership agreement has been entered into you will be deemed to have accepted the terms and conditions of the scheme and as such will be bound by these until the agreement is terminated in accordance with these conditions.

Conditions of using facilities

  • All users are bound by Aberdeenshire Council rules and admissions policy. We reserve the right to refuse admission, terminate your membership or ask you to leave any Aberdeenshire Council facility if we reasonably believe that you are in breach of the rules.   • All exercise carries risk and by taking part in exercise within our facilities you accept this risk. If you are not sure whether you should exercise, you should seek medical advice first. We will require a health questionnaire to be completed prior to attending the gym or exercise classes.
  • Facilities will open and close as advertised but may be subject to closure or programme changes for maintenance, public holidays, special events and operational reasons. In exceptional circumstances a facility may close without notice. For planned, major refurbishment, we will endeavour to give users a minimum of one month’s notice.
  • If you have paid in advance for a session that is cancelled, a credit will be automatically added to your account to be redeemed against a future session.
  • No individual may carry out paid teaching, education or coaching activities on the premises without the express, prior permission of Live Life Aberdeenshire.

  • Aberdeenshire Council reserve the right to review and amend fees, in accordance with Aberdeenshire Council policy.
  • We accept no responsibility in respect of loss or theft of articles/personal belongings left on the premises at any time.
  • All users must leave the premises in a clean and tidy condition. Failure to comply could result in membership being suspended.
  • If members rights are abused, the membership may be terminated without notice.

Registered Users

  • Your registered ID number can be used at the Live Life Aberdeenshire facilities listed at https://www.livelifeaberdeenshire.org.uk/sport-and-physical-activity/venues/
  • Your registered ID number is personal to you and is non-transferable.
  • Proof of age, address, an identification photo, or other personal details may be required at the time of joining or attending a venue.
  • It is your responsibility to keep personal details up to date. Notification of any change of personal circumstance must be given in writing to llacustomerservice@aberdeenshire.gov.uk. Please ensure your personal details are always kept up to date.
  • All users entitled to a low-income benefit rate will be required to provide documented evidence of status on a 6 monthly basis.

Bookings

  • You must be a registered user to make advance bookings.
  • Registered users can book online up to 7 days in advance. Advanced bookings for memberships are subject to membership types and can be found at https://livelifeaberdeenshire.org.uk/live-life-with-us/memberships/
  • If you need to cancel a booking for classes, gym, swim, climb or sports and courts, you must give a minimum of 3 hours notice to allow other customers the opportunity to gain a space in the class or activity.
  • We operate a no refund policy. If you have paid for a booking for classes, gym, swim, climb or sports and courts that you cancel more than 3 hours in advance, a credit will be automatically added to your account to be redeemed against a future session. Less than 3 hours notice and no credit will be given.
  • We operate a no refund policy for holiday programmes and activities. If you have paid for a booking that you cancel less than 48 hours in advance, then no refund or credit will be given.

Memberships (including passes)

  • Memberships and passes include access to services provided by Live Life Aberdeenshire subject to type as detailed on our website at https://livelifeaberdeenshire.org.uk/live-life-with-us/memberships/
  • Membership fees are non-refundable.
  • Membership does not guarantee availability when booking facilities or activities.
  • To qualify for Household membership discount all applicants must live at the same address. Proof of address may be required:
    o Drivers Licence
    o Utility Bill (dated within the last 3 months)
    o Bank Statement
    o Council Tax Statement
  • Your membership is personal to you and is non-transferable. You must not allow another person to use your membership. To protect all members we may ask to see another form of identification before you are allowed entry. Any use other than by the named person(s) will result in cancellation of membership without refund.
  • In the event of extended or repeated closures, compensation may be offered at Live life Aberdeenshire’s discretion.

Direct Debit Memberships

  • All memberships are contracts between the user and Aberdeenshire Council and represent a legally binding commitment to pay all monthly payments until the contract is terminated. Aberdeenshire Council reserves the right to refuse any person access to the Live Life membership scheme.
  • At the time of joining the membership direct debit scheme, an initial pro-rata payment will be required to cover the period up to the 1st of the month. Initial payments will be accepted by cash, debit card or credit card.
  • Membership upgrades, Direct Debit amendments and/or cancellations can only be applied between 1st and 15th of any month. Requests after this date cannot be processed until the next update period (1st – 15th of the following month).
  • Membership upgrades will take effect immediately.
  • Membership downgrades and cancellations must be sent in writing to llacustomerservice@aberdeenshire.gov.uk and will take effect from the beginning of the month after the change has been processed.
  • It is your responsibility to ensure we have received your cancellation request. We will accept no liability for items lost in the mail or undelivered emails.
  • If Aberdeenshire Council wish to cancel or amend a membership, we undertake to give you a minimum of 14 days' notice in writing.
  • All outstanding fees must be settled to the date of cancellation. Action will be taken to recover any outstanding fees.
  • Any member whose payment is not received on two consecutive occasions will have their membership suspended. To re-instate your membership:
    o All arrears must be fully paid
    o A new application and paperwork may be required.

Parties

  • You must be a registered user to make a party booking.
  • Registered users can book and pay online in advance.
  • If you need to cancel a booking, you must give a minimum of 14 days notice to allow other customers the opportunity to make a party booking.
  • If you have paid for a booking that you cancel more than 14 days in advance, a full refund will be given. Less than 14 days notice and no refund will be given.

Racquet Membership

To ensure fair access for all customers:

  • Members have free access to single courts for racquet sports. Maximum of 2 back-to-back bookings available per member per day.
  • Non-members will be subject to our pay and play price upon arrival at the centre.
  • Members are allowed to pay for non-member guests onto their court to play. However, no members or pay and play users are allowed to provide other members of the public with unauthorised access to the courts. Failure to follow this condition could result in your membership being suspended.

Ski Membership

  • Members have free access to public ski sessions and equipment used on site, which includes skis, boots poles, helmet. 
  • Membership does not include lessons, instructor led sessions, tubing or open ski sessions, or equipment hire off-site.

Climb Membership

  • Members have free access to public sessions and use of applicable climbing equipment on our bouldering wall and climbing wall.
  • Membership is only open to people with current induction, induction to be booked separately.
