Counterweight Core is a food-first 12 month weight loss / weight management and behaviour change programme ran by Live Life Aberdeenshire in partnership with NHS Grampian.
The programme has been commissioned to support diabetes prevention across Grampian and is suitable for any one who is overweight or obese, and inactive. Living with excess weight and inactivity are known contributory causes of type 2 diabetes, alongside other risk factors. Anyone wishing to know their risk score can do so via the link below.
The programme helps you to lose 5-10% of your starting body weight and keep it off.

The programme is group based and delivered in two stages:
During stage 1 participants will attend face to face weekly sessions to discuss weekly topics from the counterweight programme and take part in 30mins of low-level physical activity.
