From Monday (September 7) swimming pools and fitness rooms at community campuses across Aberdeenshire will start to reopen.
In the second part of a phased approach, Live Life Aberdeenshire facilities at Ellon, Inverurie, Aboyne and Alford will open their doors throughout September.
It follows the reopening of six standalone sports and leisure facilities at Banchory, Banff, Fraserburgh, Stonehaven, Peterhead and Turriff in recent weeks.
Ski facilities at Huntly and Alford have also reopened.
As well as creating greater equality of access for local communities, reopening of the facilities at community campuses will increase capacity to meet the needs of sports clubs.
The facilities will reopen on a rolling basis, as below (Wet side refers to swimming pools, dry side to activities outwith the pool area, such as gyms and sports courts):
From September 7: Ellon wet and dry sides.
From September 14: Aboyne dry side.
From September 21: Alford dry side.
From September 28: Alford wet side, Aboyne wet side.
From September 30: Inverurie wet side.
A date for community access to dry-side facilities at Inverurie has not yet been set – we hope to make an announcement on this in coming weeks.
All customers are asked to book and pay for their chosen activity before attending – bookings are available six days in advance via our online system.
To welcome customers back to its gyms, sports courts and swimming pools, Live Life Aberdeenshire is offering promotional prices throughout September, with many at half price or less.
A 30-day gym and swim pass is just £20, with a gym or swim only option available for £15. The usual price is £39 or £31.45 respectively. There’s even a discounted pass for households.
These passes also entitle customers to attend group exercise classes, as well as unlimited use of pools or indoor/outdoor activities available in their local facility.
Individual exercise sessions, including fitness classes and gym entry, are half price at just £3.20.
An individual swim is just £2.65, a group swim £6.80 and the use of sports courts and outdoor pitches is also heavily discounted.
Even better prices are available for those with a low income, students, young people and the over-60s. An all-inclusive pass for those with low incomes is just £8.

While Live Life Aberdeenshire is operating on a reduced basis, membership options will not be available and participation will be on a Pay as You Go basis until further notice. Active Aberdeenshire memberships continue to be suspended.
Work continues to develop a swimming lesson programme at each reopened facility and we will make every effort to ensure we provide as smooth a process as possible when we are in a position to safely restart.
