A new series of Open Book sessions are launching in Ballater Library this month. Open Book sessions are held across the country and are supported shared reading sessions. Stories and poems are read aloud by the group facilitator and discussed as you might in a regular book group. There is no reading in advance required, everyone hears the stories and poems together in the session.
The sessions in Ballater will be facilitated by local poetry publisher Duncan Lockerbie and will focus on Scots and Doric language stories and poems. There is no need for members to be fluent in either language, and this would be a great opportunity to become more familiar with works written in our native tongues.
The sessions are free to attend and there is no need to book a place – just come along! The meetings will be held each month in Ballater Library, with the first being on Saturday 25th January at 2pm-3pm.
