Move More Aberdeenshire

Move More Aberdeenshire is a programme for those living with, or previously affected by cancer. It's aim is to support you to get and stay active at a pace that is right for you.

Taking part in physical activity during and after cancer treatment can play a huge part in enabling you to take back control. It can help you prevent and manage some of the effects of treatment, such as fatigue, depression and risks to your heart health. Many people tell us that it helps them to feel more like their old self.

How we can help

Our Health and Wellbeing Coordinator will ask you a few questions, listen to what you have to say and then support you in making physical activity part of your life.

We understand cancer and can tailor a physical activity programme just for you. This will help build confidence as well as improve balance and strength in a fun and supportive environment.

It doesn't matter if you've never been particularly active as the programme offers a variety of activites for all abilities, including Macmillan friendly walking groups, gentle movement classes such as Thai Chi/Qigong fusion and circuit classes.

World Cancer Day

World Cancer Day on the 4th February is designed to promote awareness and support of cancer, with the aim to encourage its treatment, understanding and prevention. In this digital display you will find books and useful links to support organisations.
