After completing this award, participants will be able to: Understand the different fundamentals delivered at early stages, Introduce skills and drills at the appropriate level for the participates, Adapt skills when necessary to suit participation level and support lead coaches.
This 6 hour course, which provides the minimum legal level of first aid training for persons in the workplace (Aberdeenshire Council approved). The content of the course includes - what to do in an emergency, basic life support (CPR), management of the unconscious casualty and assessment and treatment of a casualty who is wounded, bleeding or shocked.
Key to working with the Summer of Sport target audience, taking a person-centred approach will help build relationships and connect and sustain engagement.
This module aims to upskill and increase the knowledge of coaches who are working with people in a sport and physical activity environment on the importance of understanding their why and coaching values, human connection, and establishing and building relationships to create a person-centred coaching environment.
Learning Outcomes:
Scottish Gymnastics have developed training and resources for primary school teachers to deliver gymnastics. The resource has been designed by physical education and gymnastics specialists, taking into account the national school curriculum for P1- P3 school years and the range of gymnastics experience of the children.
This course will orientate teachers on the new Scottish Gymnastics P1-P3 Schools Gymnastics Programme. Teachers will be given access to a resource which includes 6 weeks of lesson plans, hall set ups and station work cards. Teachers will be supported on how to introduce basic gymnastics skills to the P1-P3 child and learn about the progression and regression for each skill.
