  • Review of kit- sturdy shoes/ boots, waterproofs, hat, gloves, small rucksack, snack and drink
  • Discuss land use & history of land use, land ownership, Forest & Land Scotland, natural woodland/ forestry, map & compass skills, match map to the view, map symbols, contours, map drawing exercise, identification of settlements, Bennachie history, benefits of hillwalking, discuss feelings & experiences of being in the outdoors, identify trees, plants, animals, birds & beasties we might see, learn a song about Bennachie, effects of weather in the hills
