May is Local and Community History Month. We are celebrating with talks, drop-in sessions and and Open Day at the Local Studies Centre. We have also create some presentations on some local fowk. View all the Local and Community History Month information

What is Book to Research?

The Local Studies Centre in Oldmeldrum is open for research into local interest and family history on Monday to Friday at various opening times. Appointments not essential but are recommended and are available at the following times.

  • Monday 9am - 4pm
  • Tuesday 10am - 5.30pm 
  • Wednesday 9am - 4pm
  • Thursday 9am - 5pm 
  • Friday 9am - 4pm 

We can also offer a short online session to discuss any enquiries.  Please email local.studies@aberdeenshire.gov.uk to arrange a time and date. An email with the link to the online meeting will be sent out.

How can we help?

We can provide access to our books, newspaper and journal collections, PCs/WiFi, photograph collection, and microfilm and microfilm readers.

We recommend that you let us know in advance what information/publications you are looking for so that we can have initial information ready for your arrival.

How to book a research session at Local Studies, Library HQ in Oldmeldrum

Visitors can book their visit in advance in one hour slots. If you require more than an hour, please book another slot. You can book online or telephone the Live Life Aberdeenshire Helpline 01467 532929
