Take part in Bookbug’s Library Challenge

Bookbug’s Library Challenge is a free initiative that encourages pre-school children from birth upwards to discover and enjoy their local library. Bookbug’s Library Challenge runs from the beginning of February until end of May.

Your child will have the chance to collect beautifully illustrated certificates when they borrow books or visit the library.

Libraries have a range of great children's books you can borrow for free, and your baby or toddler is never too young to join.

Sign up to Bookbug's free and fun Library Challenge - it's an easy way to enjoy books!

How to take part

  • Join your local library and pick up your child's collector's card
  • Collect a stamp each time your child borrows books or visits the library for an event
  • When your card is full, swap it for a certificate for your child to keep
  • Start collecting stamps on a new card! There are lots of certificates to collect
  • The child that collects the most certificates per branch from February to May will receive a certificate and prize at the end of the Challenge.
