Joining Us

Joining Aberdeenshire Libraries is free, you just need to live, work or study in Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen City, Angus and Moray.

Full membership can be obtained in person at your local library, when proof of identity is required (such as a driving licence, bill, etc).

There is the option to just have an Online Membership which will give you immediate access to all our Digital Library Services, such as Libby and Pressreader. Click on link below to proceed with an Online Membership

If you live in Perth and Kinross or Highland authorities you can use your existing library card through the One Card scheme.

You can register online or pop into your local library.

How many items can you borrow?

  • borrow up to 10 books from all our libraries
  • borrow up to 10 eBooks or Audiobooks
  • borrow up to 8 non-book items such as DVDs

 

How can you renew or request an item?

No problem. You can reset library PIN

Has your membership expired?

Library membership lasts 3 years and then it expires automatically. This is so we can make sure that your contact details are up to date.

Improving Public Library Access

Aberdeenshire Library members can now take their library cards to libraries across Aberdeen, AngusHighland and Perth and Kinross and use them to access services.

Includes:

  • Loan of items
  • Public Access to computers
  • Free Wi-Fi
  • Events for all ages
