Fishing is a tough and challenging job, and along with working irregular hours it can be difficult to eat regular meals and get the correct types, balance and amount of fuel needed to support fishermen while at sea.
Recent conversations have highlighted that eating well and maintaining a healthy balanced diet is difficult, in some cases with longer term health consequences.
We would like to understand the challenges faced by fishermen to identify ways in which SeaFit could help prevent and reduce the risk of ‘food related’ illness in the longer term, and support a healthy, more active and independent lifestyle, both working at sea and into retirement.
