Now Open!

The Visual Artist and Craft Makers Awards: Aberdeenshire is now open for submissions to the 2024-2025 funding programme in Aberdeenshire.

These awards are supported by Creative Scotland through funding from the National Lottery, in partnership with Live Life Aberdeenshire. They are open to visual artists and craft makers who can demonstrate a commitment to developing their creative practice and who are living within Aberdeenshire.

The Aberdeenshire VACMA scheme 2024-2025, has a single deadline of 22nd OCTOBER 2024, and offers two bursaries:

  • £1000 bursary for applicants that have been practicing for over 5 years, regardless of whether they have gone through formal education or not.
  • £500 early-career bursary for applicants that have less than 5 years’ experience outside of education/training, graduated in 2019 or later, or that have not formally studied art but have been practising as an artist for up to 5 years.

How to Apply

Please complete both the application form and the Equalities Monitoring Form below. The Equalities Monitoring Form will be processed anonymously and will not impact on applications.

Additional advice check list:

  • Make sure you update your CV: Ensure it is a professional artist / maker CV and take out anything that isn’t relevant.
  • Have Good Photographs: Particularly of recent work. Carefully select images of your work to back up your application.
  • Label your Supporting Material: Include an image list with the dates and sizes.
  • Check that you are accurate: Does your budget request match what you’ve described in the application?
  • Ask a friend: Get a friend to check your application. Is it easy to understand what you do and it is clear what support you’re looking for? Ask someone who doesn’t know your practice to check over what you’ve written.
